Our friends Lisa and Bill rented Whitestone Island for a week in July 2002 and invited us up for visit. This is the view from our approach. |
Closer, we can see the dock and generator house. Whitestone Island is approx 5 acres and is near Pender Harbour, BC. |
Full frontal of the ONLY house on Whitestone. An incredible, swanky scene. Notice the tree growing through the house. |
Typical view from the front window. |
Whitestone rocked, literally. The Island is a bunch of big rocks and seals liked to sunbathe on them. |
Here, Bill and Dino show off the catch of they day, nabbed just a few hundred metres offshore. |
Capatin bill in his snazzy shades takes us for a spin. |
Poopdeck Paul pretending to drive the boat. Notice his realistic grip on the wheel, as if he's casually averting a capsizing oil tanker. |
Ahhh, I just love Whitestone this time of year. (our van is on the mainland in the distance.) |
Dot, Lisa, Bert, and Bill yucking it up on the boat. |
A captain sized burger for captain Bill at a "boat-up" marine pub near Pender Harbor. |
The main living room (aka rumpus room) at Whitestone. Lots of glass makes it bright. |
View toward the lower deck of the house. |
Sparkly view towards the upper "barbeque" deck where we would later grill the salmon. See the tree again? |
Indulge us please. Another view of the tree growing through the house. |
Lisa and Bill majestic as the spin through the 'hood 'round Whitestone. |
Hey Bill, turn starboard, that's right!! |
Hors d'oeuvres time late afternoon at the sundeck bar area on the lower deck. |
 "No stop it, Dot!" |
 "Cheese is not a sun-block, Lisa." |
Melted cheese and crackers. Enjoyed Whitestone-style. |
"Hey sunburn racoons, say sexy!" |
Shutterbug Paul cracks up the table. |
The medieval inspired furnishings provided an alternative to charades. |
This is what too much sun can do to you. |
"Bill, don't you dare try and come upstairs!" |
"Paul, can you come into the bedroom for a minute...I've got a stabbing headache." |
Paul has reminded the warrior maidens that we must leave Whitestone in the morning. |
A great bald eagle awaits a salmon lunch. |
Chameleon seals blend into the natural surroundings. |
Seal you two next year! |
